The 2023 Asia Cup will be the 16th edition of the Asia Cup, with the matches to be played as One Day Internationals, and it will be jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The tournament will be played by 6 teams: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal. It is scheduled to be held from 30th August, 2023 till 17th September, 2023. Sri Lanka are the defending champions.

INDIA
India Cricket Team has been on the Asia Cup Winners List seven times, the most number of times in the history of the championship. The country won the tournament in the years 1984, 1988, 1991, 1995, 2010, 2016, and 2018.
PAKISTAN
Pakistan Cricket Team is the third most successful team in the Asia Cup history, having won the title 2 times in the year 2000 and 2012 and were runner ups in total of 3 times. This year the tournament is hosted by Pakistan jointly with Sri Lanka.
SRI LANKA
Sri Lanka Cricket Team is the defending Asia Cup champions having won the 2022 tournament by beating Pakistan in the final. Sri Lanka is the second most successful team in the Asia Cup having won the title 6 times and being a runner up 6 times.
BANGLADESH
Bangladesh Cricket Team is a strong competitor in the Asia Cup. They have reached the final of the tournament for 3 times in the years: 2012, 2016 and 2018 but have never won the tournament.
AFGHANISTAN
Afghanistan Cricket Team has only qualified for the Asia Cup 3 times. This year it will be Afghanistan's 4th qualification for the tournament. Afghanistan has finished 4th in all the previous 3 appearances in the Asia Cup.
NEPAL
Nepal Cricket Team has qualified for the Asia Cup for time first time in the history of the Cup. They qualified after defeating UAE in the final of the 2023 ACC Men's Premier Cup
