




The 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup will be the 13th edition of the Cricket World Cup, a quadrennial One Day International (ODI) cricket tournament contested by men's national teams and organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC). It is scheduled to be hosted by India from 5 October to 19 November 2023 and 10 teams will participate in the tournament: India, Australia, England, Pakistan, New Zealand, Bangladesh, South Africa, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Netherlands.

TEAMS


INDIA
The Indian Cricket Team are two times World Champions. In addition to winning the 1983 Cricket World Cup, they triumphed over Sri Lanka in the 2011 Cricket World Cup on home soil. They were also runners-up at the 2003 Cricket World Cup, and semifinalists four times(1987, 1996, 2015, 2019).

ENGLAND
The England Cricket Team have appeared in every edition of the Cricket World Cup to date, being crowned champions in 2019. In addition, they were losing finalists in 1979, 1987 and 1992. England have been eliminated from the tournament in the group stage on four occasions (1999, 2003, 2007 and 2015).



AUSTRALIA
The Australia Cricket Team holds the record for being the most successful team in the ICC ODI World Cup, having won the tournament 5 times and been the runner-up twice. Australia played in 8 semi-finals of the cricket world cups. In 2007 Australia became the first team to win three consecutive World Cup tournaments.

PAKISTAN
Pakistan Cricket Team won the World Cup in 1992 under the captaincy of Imran Khan. Pakistan have also been runners up at the 1999 Cricket World Cup where they lost to Australia in the Final. They have been Semi Finalists 4 times (1979, 1983, 1987 & 2011) and have also reached the Quarter Finals twice (1996 & 2015).



SOUTH AFRICA
South Africa Cricket Team first appeared at the Cricket World Cup in 1992. Their best results has been reaching the semifinals in 1992, 1999 and 2011. The 1992 was the first tournament that the South African cricket team competed in as previously they were under an international sports boycott.

NEW ZEALAND
New Zealand Cricket Team are one of seven nations to have appeared at all World Cup Tournaments. Their best performance is reaching the final in 2015 and 2019. They have also reached the semi-finals four times: 1975, 1979, 1992, 1999.



SRI LANKA
The Sri Lanka Cricket Team has reached the World Cup final three times. Winning in 1996 under the leadership of Arjuna Ranatunga and finishing as runners-up in the 2007 & 2011 World Cups. Sri Lanka has also reached the Semi Final at the 2003 World Cup and the Quarter Final at the 2015 World Cup.

BANGLADESH
Bangladesh Cricket Team has never won the world cup in their cricket history. They made their first world cup appearance in 1999. They are now a very strong ODI team but they have never reached the finals in the past. Their biggest achievement was in 2015 when they reached in quarter-finals.



AFGHANISTAN
Afghanistan Cricket Team debuted in the 2015 Cricket World Cup. Afghanistan qualified for finals in ICC World Cup Qualifier 2018 and defeated West Indies in finals. 2019 World Cup was 2nd World Cup which Afghanistan qualified.

NETHERLANDS
Netherlands Cricket Team has participated in the 50-over World Cup four times: in 1996, 1999, 2003 and 2011. A total of twenty matches were played in the group stage, of which the Netherlands won two. The Netherlands failed to qualify for the 2015 and 2019 Cricket World Cups.
